Video interviews

Screen a whole shortlist without booking a single call.

Send an async video interview from any stage of your pipeline. Candidates record in their browser — no account, no app, no calendar ping-pong — and you watch the answers next to the CV and the scorecard whenever it suits you.

What you get

Everything the first round needs — minus the calendar.

Question kits, invites, recording, reminders, review and retention are one flow inside Hireall, not five tools stitched together.

Reusable question kits

Build a template once — each question with its own prep time and answer limit — then reuse it on every job, or start from the sample library.

Invite in bulk, from the pipeline

Select candidates in the applications list and send in one go. Hireall shows exactly how many invites the send will use before you confirm.

Browser recording, no account

Candidates open a private link, answer question by question, and each recording uploads straight from their device — nothing to install, no password to remember.

Deadlines and automatic reminders

Set a deadline, then rules like “3 days before, only if 2+ questions are still unanswered”, with your own subject and text. Need more time? Extend the deadline without resending.

Review where you already work

Answers open in the candidate's profile beside the CV and the scorecard, and your team is notified the moment a set is completed.

Retention that cleans up after itself

Recordings are deleted automatically when the retention window ends — no manual clean-up, no forgotten files.

How it runs

From invite to shortlist in four steps.

You pick the candidates and the question kit; Hireall does the rest. Each candidate gets their own private link, answers upload as they are recorded, reminders chase only the people who haven't finished, and completed sets come back into the pipeline with a notification for the hiring team.

Bulk invites with a usage preview
A private link per candidate — no login
Reminders only to unfinished candidates
Notification when a set is completed
Pop-up mode

Pop-up questions, revealed one at a time.

Switch a send to Pop-up and the candidate sees each question only when it is that question's turn — no preview of the set, no jumping ahead, and no second take. Thinking time still runs before the camera starts, so nobody is ambushed; they simply answer with what they actually know. Leave Pop-up off and you get the standard mode: questions visible upfront, answered in any order, re-recorded until the candidate is happy.

Questions revealed one at a time
No preview of the set, no second take
Thinking time before every recording
A per-send toggle — standard stays the default
Fair by design

Same questions, same clock, every candidate.

Everyone answers identical questions with identical prep and answer limits, so a first-round comparison is actually a comparison. Standard sends let candidates re-record until they are happy with a take; Pop-up sends keep every question hidden until its turn. Either way the question set, the clock and the deadline are the same for the whole batch.

Standard re-record or Pop-up one-take mode
Identical prep and answer limits for everyone
Expiring links with an access log and instant revoke
Automatic deletion at the end of retention
Where async screening pays off

  • Candidates record whenever they can
  • No install, no account, no shared calendar
  • Reviewers watch on their own time too
Video interview FAQ

The questions teams ask before their first send

How async video interviews work inside Hireall.

A recording. You send a set of questions and the candidate answers on their own time, before the deadline you set. Live interviews, panels and calendar scheduling are handled by Hireall Interviews.

No. They get a private link that opens straight into the recorder — no sign-up and no password. The link expires on your deadline, every open is logged, and you can revoke it at any time.

In standard mode, yes — they can delete a take and record it again before the deadline. In Pop-up mode each question is revealed only when its turn comes and the answer is a single take, which is the point of that mode.

Reminder rules email only the candidates with unanswered questions, a set number of days before the deadline, using your own subject and text. You can also extend the deadline instead of sending a new invite.

Until the retention window ends, and then a nightly job deletes the files from storage.

Yes. A monthly video interview allowance is built into every plan. If a hiring push needs more, contact us and we'll set up the extra invites for you.

Hireall itself needs no app — the invite link opens in the candidate's browser. If you also run your hiring through Youthall, candidates can complete the same video interview inside the Youthall mobile app, and their answers flow straight back into the Hireall pipeline.
